Deutschland semester ticket

From the winter semester 2024/25 or autumn semester 2024, all students at the University of Koblenz, Koblenz University of Applied Sciences, Hochschule für Gesellschaftsgestaltung and WHU will receive the Deutschland Semester Ticket (D-Semesterticket) as a mobile phone ticket.

Students can currently upgrade to the D-Ticket (only available until 30 September 2024) by paying a surcharge. This upgrade model will be discontinued and replaced by the new scheme.

Before the D-Ticket was introduced, students could only use their semester ticket to travel in the respective transport association with which they had a semester ticket contract.

Students will also be able to use the new ticket nationwide for journeys home and in their holidays and free time without having to worry about fare boundaries.

The new Deutschland semester ticket will cost €29.40 per student per month (at the time of the changeover). This is a saving of 40% (€19.60) when compared to the current regular D-Ticket price of €49 euros per month.

Students will receive the Deutschland Semester Ticket as a personalised mobile phone ticket through the VRM-D-Ticket-App.
Students at Koblenz University of Applied Sciences can download the ticket from their university app. In exceptional cases and upon request, the ticket may also be issued as a chip-card, but additional fees will be charged.
