Example 2:
Journeys from overlapping areas

You start at a bus stop which is part of an "overlap zone". These overlap zones are marked with grey circles and mean the following: An overlap zone of the VRM is the border from neighbouring tariff honeycombs. As you travel through such a zone, it is counted with the neighbouring honeycombs and is not separately billed.

For a journey from an overlap zone along your line to the adjacent tariff honeycomb, tariff level 1 applies. For a journey to tariff honeycomb 2, tariff level 2 will apply. Your destination is located in honeycomb 3.

Now you can easily read the fare from the price table. Three tariff honeycombs along your line = tariff level 3 = 6.20 EUR for a day ticket.

The same applies to journeys within overlap zones. They are all part of the adjacent tariff honeycombs and are not separately counted.
